POSITION: LOCALIZATION ENGINEER
Department: Engineering
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Job Description:
Join our technical team at PTIGlobal as a Localization Engineer and provide expertise in localizing documentation, web and software projects across multiple languages and technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support to Project Managers by analyzing technical project requirements and preparing engineering quotes Ensure accurate and timely delivery of engineered projects while maintaining sensitivity to budgetary constraints Collaborate on the design, implementation and documentation of new engineering processes and tools Provide engineering support to Quality Assurance Offer training and technical support to subcontractors and vendors Identify opportunities for efficient use of automation and collaborate on implementation planning and development assets
Qualifications:
Knowledge of graphics editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop Experience with help authoring tools such as RoboHelp Experience using Adobe Flash Knowledge of markup languages (XML, HTML, XLIFF) Software development in C/C++, C#, Java / J2EE, ASP.NET a plus, but not required Ideally experienced with localization tools and translation memory systems Ideally experienced in troubleshooting and resolving internationalization and localization issues Knowledge of the localization industry and methodology a huge plus Fluency in a foreign language desired, but not required Bachelor's Degree
Aptitude:
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, teamwork-oriented & deadline-driven environment Effective communication skills, both oral and written Self-driven and pro-active Can easily learn new applications and tools Detail-orientation a must
