POSITION: ASSISTANT ENGINEER
Department: Engineering
Reporting to: Engineering Team Lead
Job Responsibilities:
Overall technical responsibility for assigned projects Give status reports to project managers Assist lead engineer with quality checks, instructions/localization kits Create and maintain translation memories and terminology databases Compile, test and debug localized software and on-line help Test and debug localized web sites and multimedia assets Document technical and quality processes, as well as process improvements Participate in on-going engineering and staff meetings
Qualifications:
Knowledge of markup languages (XML, HTML, XLIFF) Experience using Adobe InDesign, Framemaker, or Illustrator Understanding of the localization industry and methodology a huge plus Fluency in a foreign language desired, but not required Bachelor's Degree
Aptitude:
Team-worker with good organization, communication and interpersonal skills Open to change and enthusiastic about new technologies Ability to make technical decisions in co-ordination with project managers and/or lead engineers Excellent ability to learn and follow instructions, work well under lead engineers
