All testing is not alike

All too frequently, translation errors arise due to lack of context or lack of terminology lists, among other issues. In these cases, how can you be sure that your clinical trials or user interface translated into a language like Japanese or Hebrew are, at the very least, accurate and consistent? Linguistic testing is an important part of the localization process as it is often the first time a third-party eye will see the localized product in context. With our linguistic verification process, we address the following issues:

  1. A designated test lead works with the localization and client teams to assess testing requirements. He or she analyzes the assets from the English source to determine the scope of testing
  2. Test lead develops a test plan in conjunction with the client, outlining the testing Statement of Work to be performed by PTIGlobal
  3. The test lead sets up required test environment according to client specifications, develops test scripts, and prepares detailed test instructions outlining the scope of the test passes
  4. After identifying the testing team (highly qualified native test engineers), the test lead conducts training on the product and any required test tools
  5. Once files are ready for testing, the test lead prepares a localization test kit and launches the testing execution
  6. Testing team executes a full test pass of the test files and reports defects in our online defect tracking system
  7. When the full test pass has been completed, the test lead conducts a bug triage in conjunction with the localization team to determine which defects will be fixed, postponed, or rejected
  8. Engineering team fixes approved defects and updates the necessary files for regression testing
  9. Testing team executes a defect regression test pass

Once testing has been completed, the project manager packages the localized files for delivery to the client.
