“The original schedule was two weeks. We then had to trim the schedule to 4 days, and you still delivered on time and with reference quality! Unlike some localization companies, which knock themselves out for the first project and then fade into a pattern of mediocrity, you have maintained, and even improved your deliverables with each new project we've done together. Thank you for a great experience.”—Localization Manager

In 1977, Mollie Peters began her foray into translation by providing French and German technical translation to an international manufacturer based in Portland, Oregon. That company is still a client of PTIGlobal today. Those were the early days of the translation industry, when a multitude of small operations had sprung up throughout the U.S. Many of those original companies dropped away or were bought out by familiar enterprises like Berlitz, AlpNet, and IC, all of which were themselves subsequently acquired and transformed into the international localization giants of today. Throughout, PTIGlobal remained its own entity and exhibited steady, organic growth.
After several years of translating technical documentation, Peters began to hire staff, expand into other European languages, and manage the work of other translators. The opening of new markets in Japan led to a soaring demand for Japanese translation. Other Asian languages soon followed. In response, PTIGlobal expanded its services to cover all commercial languages worldwide. With workload growing fast, the company hired more key employees and moved into a dedicated office space. While translation remains a core strength of PTIGlobal, a large and capable engineering team has helped define the company's expertise in software localization.
In 2006, PTIGlobal doubled its full-time staff and added 40 to 50 contingent employees for managed services operations, performing quality assurance on localized products. Between 2006 and 2008, PTIGlobal expanded these operations to include English QA, translation, and technical writing, In 2009, software development was added as an on-site service.
Today, PTIGlobal provides turnkey localization and internationalization services at its headquarters in Portland for software, hardware, web-based applications, e-commerce sites, and enterprise solutions for any locale in the world.
